Many people say that they have Savage servers for about 10-20€ per month. It's really more cheaper... I said about donating on TH forums and my mates agree to donate, but they really don't believe that servers can cost 900€.

I want to give more details about servers:

our needs
- for one server with 64 slots we need 1 core approx with (2 Ghz) on a intel proc (recent one) with this conf we will provide "fluid gaming" without lags either during big battles.

- for fun server we need approx the same thing because settings of this server are (I don't know why ) consuming a lot of CPU !

- it is possible to get the third server (50 slots) without another core but if all servers are full .. we have lags !

- To offer a team speak server for all savage players we only need 10 % of one core and bandwith.

so the minimum requirement is really intel double core (2,33 Ghz)!

On a celeron we can host one server with 50 players maximum

the price of a server hosted in france :

ovh is leader of server hosting ins France and gives the best ping) ... in the past we test other providers but ovh is really the best one).. you can get the price of the server (entry of OVH .. )

ideal server :

59 € (including taxes) * 12 month = 708 € ... this server is the cheapest we can get with OVH ..

low cost server for 50 slots only:
the price will be about 36 € each month so 432 € for a year http://www.kimsufi.com/ks/ (Proc Celeron D/215/220 at 1.20 GHz WITHOUT DEDICATED BANDWITH so we will have somenetwork lags ) .

Conclusion

I rent servers to host games since 2002 and if you want a good server, this price is the correct one.

I also know that we can find cheaper servers but its certain you will have bad pings and network lags (not cpu overloads but network overload) and the server will be empty ...

I think that the best choise is to propose good servers without lags (it's my opinion and I think the only way to have "happy players")
--> core 2 duo = 700 € / year

Bad news

But there are so many players who wants to continue playing Funpark... I have a question: can we (me and the whole clan TH') rename our server to European or Funpark? We liked them so much and we want to continue their life but on our server. Renaming the server will attract many people. Do you allow us to make it?

it's really a bad news the server is down ... definitly down ?

Concerning server name I think it's not a good idea to put it on another server. Administrator team is not the same , server quality is probably not the same (we always try to get the best for our server.. without lags).

Using this name may provides you players during few days but if your server is not as powerfull as the old one .. players will go away.

We are hosting our server at Newerth.com and it is on official newerth servers list. The best quality :) The server name is European TH server. Not really the same but we will try to make the same settings (stamina, gold, XP etc.)
